What are you doing race weekend?  Want to volunteer and be of real help to lots of amazing athletes? Online volunteer registration, including choice of position and time slot, will be available here before the end of September.  Please check back and make your choice; first come, first served!

These are the activities where your help would be greatly appreciated:

Aid Stations on Race Day
Aid stations along the race route in the Fakahatachee.  Work a shift at one of the 10 aid stations in support of the runners.  These are located throughout the course.  Volunteers will be driven to and from assigned sites by park rangers or other employees.

Finish Line and Awards Support
Greet arriving runners with applause.  Hand out finisher medals, race awards, retrieve personal drop bags for runners, prep and offer food and drinks and more.

Race Start
Check-in runners for the three races on race morning.  Assist with race packet distribution for those runners who are unable to attend the Friday afternoon orientation.

Friday Afternoon Check-in and Meeting
For those runners who are able to participate on Friday afternoon, a detailed orientation meeting about the race and the park will be held from 4:00pm until 5:00pm at or near the Fakahatachee park office.  This meeting will be preceded by race packet pick-up and check-in from 2:00pm until 4:00pm.  Volunteers will be needed to assist with packet pick-up during those hours, and also preparing the meeting room with tables, chairs, race packets and related items from 1:00pm until 2:00pm.

Medical
Trained medical personnel will be needed at the finish line and monitoring the course with race marshals during the race.  This is an important function.  Nurses, doctors and EMTs are encouraged to offer their services on race day.

Publicity
Promote runner participation in the races
Distribute race brochures and posters to appropriate businesses or at races in your area
Contact media to raise awareness of this unique event; request interviews and appearances
Assist with social media promotion
Promote fundraising for the park and encourage new memberships in “Friends of Fakahatchee”

Waiver Required
